Darkblue 2025 edition is a merge between a story-telling atmospheric concept album and improvisational graphic art by Fiobos Gkoubras!
Here is what the artist joining us for this project has to tell you about himself:

Hello,

My name is Fiobos, but you can call me Fivo. I am a Greek immigrant who has been
living in Belgium for the past ten years. Before pursuing art, I studied music both in
Greece, and in Belgium. In 2019, I dropped out of the Conservatory of Antwerp to
study something else, which eventually led me to Graphic Design.

I went into a graphic design bachelor in 2021 (which I am still trying to finish). One
of the requirements of the entrance exam was drawing, and throughout my years in
the academy, it was the one thing that steadily kept improving.
My academic journey has felt like swimming in a vast, dark lake at night—reaching
out blindly in search of direction. It has been a process of trial and error: three
wrongs, one right; two wrongs, one right. Through studying graphic design, drawing,
and painting, I found that I was also learning about myself.

Starting with art late in life was, and is, hard. More so if you are an immigrant,
trying to make a living. Also being late diagnosed with combined ADHD, big source
of many, if not all, of my problems. While conceptual thinking often felt like a battle
with my own mind, I had a sort of clarity when I would begin to draw. It was like I
could almost control my focus though drawing. I am still trying to learn about my
ADHD, but it is a big part of what makes me who I am and why I gravitate toward art.
I find the human body fascinating. Lots of stories can be told just with some lines
and perspective. Eccentric characters, big noses, long ears, wrinkles, really, really
interesting.

Drawing is a life-long quest, and I always feel the need to catch up the idea of who I
want to be in the future. Ultimately, my passion lies in character design and concept
art. I am dedicated to improving my drawing skills and becoming a compelling visual
storyteller
